The Healthworks Foundation
is always looking for volunteers. Please contact

Opportunities include:
Front Desk Volunteer -
greets members, logs Ids, signs up new members, files paperwork,
makes copies of needed paperwork, and answers phones.
Youth Fitness Zone Instructor -
develop and/or lead fitness classes for children and/or
adolescents. A wide variety of expertise needed-- dance and
martial arts instructors, general fitness class
instructors (personal trainers/group exercise teachers),
athletic coaches for skills development and sports & agility
classes, PE teachers, etc. Those with a love of fitness and
interest in supporting the health of young people welcome!
Students training to be fitness professionals and/or physical
education teachers also welcome!
Wellness Coach – act as
fitness mentor, develop a professional and personable
relationship with a member, and connect member with appropriate
resources (no certification necessary).
Personal Trainer – assess a member’s fitness needs,
prescribe individual exercise programs, provide education on
wellness principles and exercise safety, and motivate members to
achieve realistic goals.
Group Exercise Instructor – facilitate group exercise
classes, motivate members to attend classes, and impart
information on exercise safety.
Nutritionist – facilitate weekly educational workshops,
meet one-on-one or in small groups of members for nutrition
consultation, and impart nutritional information to staff and
volunteers.
Outreach Worker – This volunteer can help with any one or
all of the below Outreach Opportunities Facilitate information
tables; Distribute fliers; assist with donation solicitation;
assist with mass mailings; Assist with Foundation fund and
awareness raiser events
Foundation Liaison - (perfect for current
Healthworks employees!) - Responsible for displaying foundation
outreach materials; Assist in keeping Foundation outreach corner
neat and up to date; Assist with developing outreach boards that
attract attention and outreach; Responsible for keeping front
desk staff updated on Foundation activities; Assist with setting
up drives; Assist with your club's fund and or awareness raising
events; Stay abreast of the developments of the Foundation
We are also seeking
Volunteers to teach fitness apprenticeships to students at
Edison Middle School in Brighton in partnership with Citizen
Schools. Volunteers can teach anything they are passionate
about, including: YOGA, AEROBICS, DANCE or OUTDOOR SPORTS.
Volunteers teach one 90 minute lesson per week for 10 weeks.
Volunteers may teach alone or in a small group. Through three
training sessions and weekly in classroom staff support,
volunteers can teach anything they know about to students. If
