parties to children living in homeless shelters. We recognize the
importance of a birthday in a child’s life, and believes that the gift
of a birthday party provides normalcy, joy and hope in their otherwise
unsettled lives.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston is a local organization that
helps boys and girls, generally from disadvantaged circumstances,
develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and
leaders.

children. We develop programs which match caring and competent adults
with students of all needs and levels.
Casa Myrna Vasquez is a Boston-based, multicultural
organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in the lives of
women and children through advocacy, prevention, and intervention
programs.
Dress for Success is a national organization that promotes the
economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional
attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help
women thrive in work and in life.
Girls Inc. of Lynn responds to the changing needs of girls in
and around their communities by providing essential resources and
programs to high-risk, low-income girls and their families.
Help for Abused Women and Children (HAWC) provides
comprehensive emergency and support services to battered women and
their children in Northeastern Massachusetts.
Jane Doe Inc. creates social change by addressing the root
causes of sexual assault and domestic violence, advocating for public
policy, raising awareness, promotes collaboration, supporting its
sixty member organizations to provide comprehensive prevention and
intervention services and promoting safety, justice and healing for
survivors.
On The Rise is a local organization that supports the
initiative and strength of women living in crisis or homelessness. In
a physically and psychologically safe environment, we build the
relationships and provide the tools that each woman needs to rise to
her potential.
Planned Parenthood League of
Massachusetts aims to protect and promote sexual and reproductive
health by providing health care services, education and political
advocacy. With more than 860 health centers nationwide, nearly five
million women, men, and teens turn to Planned Parenthood each year for
essential services.
RESPOND, Inc. is a community-based organization that helps
women and their children create options for a safer life, free from
domestic violence, and to further the efforts of the larger community
to end domestic violence. At this time we seek to fulfill our mission
by providing shelter, support, advocacy and education.
Room to Grow is a national organization that enriches the lives
of babies born into poverty throughout their critical first three
years of development. Room to Grow provides parents in poverty with
clothing, books, toys, and other essential items for their growing
babies; and offering one-on-one parenting guidance and child-rearing
information to ensure their child's healthy and secure start in life.
Rosie’s Place provides a safe and nurturing environment for
poor and homeless women to maintain their dignity, seek opportunity,
and find security in their lives. Established in 1974, Rosie’s Place
is committed to welcoming each guest with respect and unconditional
love. Rosie’s Place accepts no government funds, and relies instead on
committed volunteers and private supporters to accomplish its
effective and innovative work.
The Second Step seeks to break the cycle of domestic violence,
one family at a time. Our mission is to provide transitional housing
and support services to women and their children who have successfully
taken the first step away from domestic violence. We provide a broad
range of services to empower these women to heal, to maintain
independence, and to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
Solutions at Work helps people transition out of homelessness.
Founded in 1989, we remain true to our dual mission: helping homeless
people advocate for their own needs and breaking the economic chains
that bind people in homelessness.
Women in Community Service serves low-income women, families,
and youth who are in transition: women moving from incarceration back
to the community, welfare to work; women who have overcome chemical
dependence or homelessness; and young people, facing a multitude of
issues while making the transition to successful employment and an
independent life.
The Women’s Lunch Place, since 1982, has provided a safe,
comfortable day time shelter, nutritious food, and services for women
who are homeless or poor. We treat women with dignity and respect, and
foster a community committed to meeting each woman’s needs. Most
importantly, it provides a harbor to women who have suffered
unbearable losses of family, friends and home, where they can regain a
sense of dignity and self-esteem. |
